This guide is the quickest, easiest, and most foolproof way to study for the Nursing OSCE/IENCAP examination and guarantee success upon writing the Nursing OSCE/IENCAP examination!
Why is this prep guide beneficial
The Nursing OSCE/IENCAP Prep Guide is extremely beneficial to all nurses, both student, and working. It is comprised of easy to understand questions and answers which are identical in every way, to the questions which will be presented to the student (in scenario format) while writing the Nursing OSCE/IENCAP examination.
How does the examination work
You are presented with a patient 25 years old, who is diabetic, with a history of fractures due to various sports injuries and familial rheumatoid arthritis. The patient is complaining of radiating pain and stiffness of muscles and joints. The physician prescribes Prednisone (Deltasone) 2.5 mg TID PO QD. What should the nurse be aware of?
A. The patient is too young for Prednisone (Deltasone) treatment
B. The patient’s diabetes has nothing to do with the prescribed treatment
C. The history of sports injuries has nothing to do with the patients prescribed treatment
D. The patient’s blood glucose levels may be increased; therefore insulin dosage should be increased
As you can clearly see, the questions on the Nursing OSCE/IENCAP examination are loaded with information which may not, and 90% of the time, is not pertinent to what the correct answer requires. The answers all seem to blend and mix together with nothing really standing out.

How does the prep guide work
What is a common side effect of steroid (Prednisone) treatment?
Increased blood glucose levels. Increase insulin dosage
As you can see, upon memorizing the easy to understand material within the guide, students can EASILY see when this answer is due on the Nursing OSCE/IENCAP examination. Once the student recognizes the “steroid (Prednisone) question” so to speak, it will be easy to recall “increased blood glucose, increase insulin dosage” and the correct answer will stand out to the student like never before when writing a nursing examination. The student remembers increased blood glucose levels, increase insulin dosage and the student visually sees…

It really is just that simple! That is what sets this guide apart from the dozens of alternatives available to the student. This guide only focuses on questions and answers pertinent to the Nursing OSCE/IENCAP and not nursing as a whole. It is not to say information related to nursing and not the Nursing OSCE/IENCAP is not important, it is only to say that this guide is designed to make it virtually impossible for the student to fail the Nursing OSCE/IENCAP because the exact material on the examination is laid out in an easy to understand and comprehend format and upon repetition and memorization of the material in this guide, the student will easily push through the Nursing OSCE/IENCAP and feel confident after having finished, knowing that what they studied was in fact presented during their examination.

Is the examination the same for every student
The Nursing OSCE/IENCAP questions are always randomized so students will never get the same examination twice. Each version has different questions, and in a different sequence, in order to alleviate cheating during the examination (e.g. looking at another student's answers). The number of questions presented during the Nursing OSCE/IENCAP examination is 97 and the number of stations presented during the Nursing OSCE/IENCAP examination are 12. Because the student will never get the same exact examination twice, it is critically important if the student fails the examination, to start studying with a different approach. It is a common mistake for the student not to change how or what they study and to result in a failed attempt, $1500.00 or more lost in examination fees, and the unbearable task of having to RE-ATTEND THE ENTIRE NURSING PROGRAM AGAIN! It happens every day, and without the proper tools to pass, it can and has happened to students who graduated with honors, students who scrapped by, and everyone in between!
What is the minimum mark needed to pass
The Nursing OSCE/IENCAP is graded by a minimum standard. This means that the student must meet a minimum mandatory score of 68% to be deemed "demonstrated". Anything below this score will result in a final mark of "partially demonstrated" or "not demonstrated"
How does the student find out if they have passed
The Nursing OSCE/IENCAP examination does not give a letter grade or percentage mark if passed. The examination is marked on a pass/fail system. Any student who achieves a mark equivalent to, or greater than the minimum standard is awarded a passing mark and their college is sent notification via postage mail within 8 weeks. Any student who achieves a mark lower than the minimum standard average is awarded a failing mark and is sent a break down of how they scored throughout the examinations various skill, knowledge, and competency sections.
How much does it cost to write the examination
The Nursing OSCE/IENCAP costs approximately $1500.00 to write
How many times can the examination be written
The examination can be written only once in Canada before the Canadian College of Nurses (respective to each provincial or territorial regulatory body title) insists the student re-attend the entire nursing program once again. This is not only costly, but also time consuming to the nursing student, which is why passing this incredibly difficult examination is so crucial to all nursing students!
HOW OFTEN CAN THE examination BE WRITTEN
The examination is available to be written 4x per year in windows of approximately 1 month each. The 1st window is from August 15th, the 2nd window is August 27th, the 3rd window is November 21st, and the fourth window is December 5th.
How much time does the examination allot
The Nursing OSCE/IENCAP examination allots 150 minutes (2.5 hours) of time to write. Because there 97 questions and 12 stations, the average student has 1 minute and 30 seconds per question and 13 minutes per station
How much does it cost to reschedule the examination
Changing an already scheduled Nursing OSCE/IENCAP examination time slot, if the student feels unready to be examined is permitted so long as it is before 30 days of the scheduled examination date. If this is the case, it will cost approximately $200.00 to reschedule.
What happens if the student does not show up to write the examination
Failure to attend the Nursing OSCE/IENCAP examination when scheduled results in forfeiture of the cost paid (approximately $1500.00) with NO REFUND and NO EXCEPTIONS! If a student is late by up to 30 minutes, they are still permitted to write the examination. If the student is late by any time greater than 30 minutes, the student will not be permitted to write the examination and will forfeit the cost paid (approximately $1500.00) with NO REFUND and NO EXCEPTIONS!
